If you couldn't guess from the name (or have no memory of his G1 counterpart), Swoop is a winged prehistoric lizard. I'll refer to him as a pteranodon for the moment, but I'm sure someone more familiar with this type of animal is fully aware of the biological flaws and inaccuracies.
Its difficult to pull off this animal in toy form; Swoop's legs and wings don't line up perfectly. I'm not sure yet if its a weird design or if I'm just doing it wrong.

Transformation is almost exactly the same as every other pteranodon TF- straighten out the arms & legs, fold down one head & pull out the other head.
Swoop's basically the exact opposite of his Dinobot Brother Snarl- tall, thin and dozens of ball socket articulation joints. His weapon is a spiked mace bearing the same char-flame details of Grimlock's sword.
The wings can fold together against his back to form a sort of cape or be raised in traditional "Flight" position.
There is a minor problem with the wings that needs to be addressed:

As you can see, there is no cap covering the left wing joint. It seems like something that could be an individual specimen flaw but I know that's not the case because EVERY SINGLE SWOOP we've seen has had the exact same problem, even the ones in package or on display at conventions! Its only a cosmetic flaw but I hope that somewhere along the line we get an explanation for it.

Overall, Swoop's a great way to round out the Dinobots: he's well-designed, super-poseable and above all fun. Recommended!
