Onslaught is a SWAT truck, the same sort of Vehicle Mode that Animated Bulkhead possesses but without TV-style sculpting and coloring that brought Bulkhead to life. No, this Vehicle is apparently closely modeled after an actual real-world vehicle and appears to pay appropriate homage to Onslaught's G1 form. It's a very intimidating vehicle.
Onslaught's Robot Mode is frighteningly close to his G1 counterpart while still being "different" enough to belong to the New Universe line.
Design is solid, articulation is wonderful but Onslaught tragically comes up short in the weapons department. His left arm carries a SWAT "shield" which is-to be blunt- utterly USELESS. The shield cannot stay on his arm worth a damn and its even worse when mounted on the "roof" for his Vehicle Mode.
Onslaught's right arm is supposed to house a spring-loaded cannon but mine appears to be defective because the cannon only pops out a few inches when the button is pressed.
If some additional thought had been put into Onslaught's weapons he'd be just about perfect- but as it is I consider him only slightly above average. A good pickup but could've been done better.
